Cancellation & Refund Policy
Clear, fair terms — so you can book with confidence.
I want every woman who works with me to feel confident in her decision. This policy explains how bookings, deposits and refunds work across my services, in plain language. It forms part of my Terms & Conditions.
1. Course & cohort bookings (Becoming Doula training)
Places on each cohort are limited and offered on a first-come basis. Your place is secured with a non-refundable deposit, with the balance due 14 days before the course start date, or spread across an agreed payment plan.
2. Your 14-day cooling-off period
When you book, you have a legal right to change your mind within 14 days (under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) and receive a full refund — provided the course or service has not yet started. If you ask for a service to begin, or to access any materials, within that 14-day window, you may be asked to waive this right, and the terms below will then apply.
3. Cancelling a course place
Once the 14-day cooling-off period has passed, course fees — including your deposit — are non-refundable. This is because places are strictly limited, cohorts are kept deliberately small, and a place given up close to the start date can rarely be filled.
However, I never want a change in circumstances to mean you lose everything. Wherever possible, I will offer you the option to transfer your place to a future cohort, so your investment is protected. Transfers are offered at my discretion and subject to availability.
4. Payment plans
If you are paying in instalments, cancelling does not release you from instalments already due. Choosing to transfer to a future cohort carries your payments across with you.
5. Coaching, branding & website services
For 1:1 coaching and done-for-you branding and website work, a deposit secures your booking and start date. After the 14-day cooling-off period, deposits are non-refundable, as they reserve time set aside for you. For branding and website projects, once creative work has begun (from our first discovery session or moodboard), fees are non-refundable, as the time and design work cannot be recovered. Any remaining balance for work not yet started may be refundable at my discretion.
6. Mentoring sessions
One-off mentoring sessions can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed sessions, are non-refundable.
7. If I need to cancel
In the unlikely event that I need to cancel a cohort or session, you will be offered a place on the next available date, a suitable alternative, or a full refund of any fee paid for the cancelled element.
8. Exceptional circumstances
I understand that life sometimes brings something serious and unexpected. If you find yourself in genuinely exceptional circumstances, please talk to me — I will always do my best to find a compassionate way forward.
